XPE Standard Cross-Link Polyethylene Foam mats are made using high-performance closed-cell, cross-linked polyethylene foam. Cross-linked foam does not break down from repeated bending or compression and will outlast other mats made with cheaper, non-cross-linked foam.

The foam is 2″ thick and is heat bonded to our durable 26oz. carpet.

Al first developed the blocks to create a “channel bar” station – above the ground.  Gymnasts can safely do skill progressions early on for handstands, giants and release moves.  Coaches love to use them as Spotting Blocks for bar skills.  A special firm foam is used on the bottom to create a more stable environment which coaches REALLY appreciate for safety reasons.

And, bars is just the beginning!  Each block has a 4” white line on the top for training beam skills, including mounts and dismounts.  The rigid sides make for the ideal conditioning, plyometric or flexibility stations.  Turn them on their edges or on end to create dynamic obstacle courses for a great cardio workout!

Each block is made of firm yet lightweight foam that is covered in easy to clean vinyl.  They are super lightweight with carrying handles for ease in moving from station to station.  Each block has strategically placed velcro allowing them to be securely stacked on top of each other, side by side, or end to end.  There are endless configurations and uses for the Al Fong Blocks!

The Blocks and Planks are made up of 2 different types of foam. The top has 4″ of EVA Crosslink Foam with a Solid Polystyrene Core. There is no EVA Crosslink Foam on the bottom, to help with increased stability.
