Pommel Buck Added to Gymnastics Equipment Product Line

The Pommel Buck is a vital training tool for pommel horse, but unfortunately has been missing from the AAI gymnastics equipment line for many years. However, today, we’re excited to announce that it’s back! Featuring the same new body shape and leather as the recently redesigned International ELITE Pommel Horse, the Pommel Buck is now better than ever.

AAI’s Pommel Buck has the same flat top design as the International ELITE Pommel Horse, but with a smaller body profile allowing athletes to train on scissors, flairs, circles and other pommel skills.

Complete system includes covered body, two pommels, two pistons, and a base
Horse body is constructed using 14 gauge steel shell, covered with a 2-piece 18mm thick polyethylene foam cut, shaped and fitted to the body contour. Then the body is wrapped with a high quality, durable material molded to assure smoothness while being securely staple stitched on the underside
Pommels can be adjusted in width from 15-3/4” to 18-1/2” and are easily removed
Rubber plugs are provided to cover the pommel holes if horse is used for magyars, sivados and/or vaulting
Spin and snap locks are welded to the base cylinders allowing easy height adjustment by one person
Base dimensions: 35-1/2” wide and 50” long
Horse Body dimensions: 11” high and 32” long
Height Adjustment from 37-1/4” to 53”
Powder coated classic blue finish which resists chipping, fading and regular wear found in average finishes

New Pommel Pod Trainer

We have just added an all-new Pommel Pod Trainer to our product line. Right off, you’ll notice the new unique design that gives you the benefit of a taller pedestal-style mushroom while keeping the durable, light-weight benefit of the dome style pommel trainers.

With the taller base to the new Pommel Pod Trainer, your gymnasts should find it easier to begin their circles with a straighter body-line instead of having to lean over in a piked position as is typically seen with the shorter pommel trainers.

Fill Base with Sand

The base is constructed using a LEP material, making it lightweight, durable and economical to ship. A 3″ cap found in the bottom of the base can be removed to allow the addition of sand as needed to weight the base down. The gymnast shown in the video below is approximately 120-130 lbs. A 50 lb bag of sand was added to the base for this illustration, and as you can see, it is rock-solid!

AAI ELITE Pommel Horse Adjustment

In this gymnastics equipment video we will show you how to adjust the base and the pommels of your AAI ELITE Pommel Horse.

The ELITE Pommel Horse can be adjusted in 50mm increments from 950mm to 1350mm. The FIG competition setting for pommel horse is 1150mm.

To adjust the height of the horse, loosen both spinlocks, release the snaplocks and lift or lower the horse to the desired height. Make sure the snaplocks are engaged and the spinlocks are tightened securely before each use of the horse.

To adjust the pommels, loosen the ball handle from the underside of the pommel horse and slide the pommel to the desired width. The pommel should slide along the 1/2″ x 5″ bolt. Once in position, securely tighten the ball handle.
