Dance
ALL DANCE CLASSES - In order to participate in the recital, students must be enrolled in AND ATTENDING their class(es) by the week of January 5, 2009 through recital day.
For ALL dance classes listed below, student participation in the Dance Recital is FREE of charge.
Ballet & Tap
Mini Stars through Super Stars will work on creative movement, ballet, and tap throughout the entire year.
ATTIRE: Girls wear a leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes. Boys wear a t-shirt, shorts (no jean shorts), and black ballet shoes. Mini Stars through Shooting Stars Ballet & Tap must have black tap shoes. Dancers must bring both ballet and tap shoes to every class. Super Stars Ballet & Tap should consult the dance director to find out what type of tap shoes should be worn. Hair must be pulled up and back from the face. No jewelry except small post earrings.
Mini Stars Ballet & Tap - Coed, ages 3-4 years old (45 minute class)
Stars Ballet & Tap - Coed, Kindergarten through 2nd grade (1 hour class)
Stars2 Ballet & Tap - Coed, Kindergarten through 2nd grade with 1 year experience in Stars Ballet & Tap (1 hour class)
Shooting Stars Ballet & Tap - Coed, 3rd grade and older (1 hour class)
Shooting Stars Tap - Coed, 3rd grade and older (1 hour class)
Pom
A class that teaches more up-to-date, "dance/drill team" style dances as well as emphasizing precision and sharpness in movement. Students will have the opportunity to work with pom-poms. These classes will each present one number in the recital.
ATTIRE: Students may wear form-fitting athletic wear (NO jean shorts). DO NOT purchase dance shoes before attending class/consulting the dance director.
Stars Pom - Coed, Kindergarten through 2nd grade - (1 hour class)
Shooting Stars Pom - Coed, 3rd grade and older - (1 hour class)
Jazz
Jazz dance is an energetic and expressive form of dance. In this class, students learn jazz technique and combinations set to popular music. This class will present one number in the recital.
ATTIRE: Students wear a leotard and tights or jazz pants. Black low top jazz shoes are required.
Shooting Stars Jazz - Coed, 3rd grade and older - (1 hour class)
Jazz dance is an energetic and expressive form of dance. It is fun to do and improves your coordination. In this class, students learn jazz technique and combinations set to popular music. Students wear a leotard and tights or jazz pants. Black low top jazz shoes are required.
